There is a lot of legal insecurity for former American President Donald Trump. It can be proven from the fact that Trump tried to keep his tax returns out of the reach of Cyrus Vance, the District Attorney. His attempts were declined by the Supreme Court.
In simple terms, the court has given permission to Vance and the grand jury to look into Trump’s financial documents that include quick money payments to two women during the 2016 elections who allegedly had affairs with Trump. All his secrets will be out if his financial documents are accessed though he fought really hard to prevent these documents from getting out.
In 2019 Kara Scannell and Marshall Cohen from CNN wrote – “The documents are the first time that the US authorities have identified Trump by name and allege his involvement at key steps in the campaign finance scheme.”, they also mentioned that – “Authorities had previously referred to Trump in court filings as ‘Individual 1,’ the person who directed [Michael] Cohen to make the payments. Trump has publicly denied making the payments. Cohen pleaded guilty to two campaign finance crimes, among others, and is serving a three year prison sentence.”
Cohen was the personal lawyer of Trump. In February 2019 Cohen confessed before Congress under oath that he did as per the instructions of Trump and paid Karen McDougal and Stormy Daniels for their silence.
There are many other legal matters that Trump needs to deal with. There are defamation lawsuits from Summer Zervos and E. Jean Carroll, a fraud lawsuit by his niece Mary Trump, a possible charge of incitement in the January 6 riot in the US Capitol, etc.
