There have been changes in the foreign policies of America after Joe Biden became the president. On Thursday the American President said, “America is back” with a declaration saying “diplomacy is back at the center”. The reason behind this declaration is the decision that America will stop aiding the objectionable projects of Saudi Arabia for Yemen. This is one of the drastic changes in the foreign policies apart from other changes.
Other important changes made in the policies include an increased limit for refugees permitted into the US, checking reallocation of German troops, and US assistance for LGBTQ rights all over the world. He also believes that by working together with other nations advancing authoritarianism as a global challenge can be checked.
Joe Biden said, “We can’t do it alone…. We must start with diplomacy rooted in America’s most cherished democratic values. Defending freedom. Championing opportunity. Upholding universal rights. Respecting the rule of law. And treating every person with dignity.” All these values were at risk due to the unrest generated by the former President Donald Trump and so Biden’s concern is genuine. He believes that though the American democracy has been under pressure the people of America will free themselves from its effects and evolve.
On Thursday the president visited the State Department with Vice President Kamla Harris where he gave a speech to the State Department employees in which he mentioned targets like making more alliances, facing the pandemic challenges, managing global warming situations, and the protection of human rights and democracy worldwide. All these policies are directed towards the enhancement of middle-class people.
