With former President Donald Trump set to appear at 2020r’s Conservative Political Action Conference, many ambitious Republicans have started to bid for the party’s 2024 nomination. They are utilising the two days to stake their own claims to become leaders of the movement around the former President.
The 2024 race will take up time to shape up. But 2021 CPAC in Orlando, Florida, has a window open for diving into the new Republican Party that is being built around the grievances of Trump’s campaigns and the presidency duration. The speakers have embraced every lie Trump has spoken from the 2020 election being rigged to belittling the health expert recommendations like wearing masks during the pandemic as Trump had done.
The organisers of the event have built the complete event around Trump’s adopted home state. Trump is banned from social media platforms and the organisers used this to make a theme around liberal “cancel culture”. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said that everyone should take it into account that “Donald J. Trump ain’t going anywhere”.
The CPAC attendees agreed on the same and applauded the thoughts. Bob Paxton of Ocala, Florida, said that there is nothing Trump can say or do to make the supporters like him change their minds about Trump. The crowd wore ‘Make America Great Again’ hats and shouted the pro- Trump slogans all the time. It is being said that every CPAC attendee is ready to support Trump if he decides to run again in the next election.
